The Nigerian army has issued a security advisory on its planned nationwide military exercise tagged ‘Operation Positive Identification (OPI)’.

The operation, which will commence on the 1st of November, 2019 and end on the 23 of December, 2019, is tailored towards a physical identification of Nigerians in order to improve security and rout out illegal immigrants who are suspected to behind the increasing cases of kidnapping across the country.

For as long as the operation lasted, members of the public are expected to, among other things, be in possession of a valid means of identification at all times, obey all legal directives by security agents; endure the increase in travel times between locations which would result from the increased road search; avoid night travels; know at least one emergency contact off hand; dress responsibly and not be in possession of illegal or prohibited items.

Details later.
