Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have arrested four armed robbers trapped inside a branch of First Bank Plc in the Mpape area of Abuja.
The robbers, who invaded the bank on Saturday morning were reported to have been stuck inside the banking hall for several hours following the arrival of the policemen who surrounded the building.
It was gathered that when the robbers refused to surrender, the officers stormed the hall, killing one of the gang members in the process.
Reacting to the incident, the FCT Police Commissioner, Mr Bala Ciroma said, “It was a foiled bank robbery. We stopped the robbers from raiding the bank.
“Four men were arrested while a suspect was killed. Investigation has commenced to determine how they entered the bank and other things.”
