Kwara Min. of Enterprise partners Bank of Industry, CAC to revive moribund businesses

The Kwara State Commissioner for Enterprise, Alhaji Abdulwahab Femi Agbaje on Monday received the State Manager, Bank of Industry (BOI), Mr. Olusegun Adekogbe and State Manager, Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Mrs. Temilade Oladipo in the ministry.

It was gathered that the visit was geared towards familiarizing the organizations with the newly-established ministry with the goal of transforming the face of the state’s economy.

The BOI state manager, who described the organization as one of the oldest and most successful development financial institutions, restated the BOI’s commitment to providing financial support to revive industries that have gone moribund in the state.

He also stated that the institution would serve as the blood bank for enterprises that are being supported by good work environment and government policies.

Adekogbe, however, pleaded with the state government to help recover outstanding loans from entrepreneurs, to enable other enterprises enjoy the benefits as well.

In his remarks, the commissioner described the BOI and the CAC as critical stakeholders in achieving the government’s goal of not just building the economy but sustaining it.

Agbaje noted that the State Ministry of Enterprise would engage the people of the state positively—affirming that the ministry is ready to partner with them.

He added that the state government will key into the right policies to ensure an enterprising Kwara.

The commissioner further implored the organizations to continue supporting the ministry, while assuring that the management team of the ministry will continue to meet with them to evaluate their plans and also improve on policies that will foster private enterprise and sensitize business owners on the need to maintain positive credit records.

In attendance were the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Hammed Toyin Lawal; the Director Personnel, Finance and Supply (PFS), Hajia Sikirat Kikelomo Saka; the Director of Commerce, Mr. Moshood Opadiran; the Director Cooperatives, Elder Shola Ogunbiyi; Assistant Director (PFS), Alhaji Usman Kana among others.
