Condolence visit: Borno residents scorn Buhari, chant “we don’t want you” (Video)

By Umar Salam.

Residents of Maiduguri in Borno State on Wednesday scorned President Muhammadu Buhari, who is currently in the state on a condolence visit, following Sunday’s attack in Auno town by Boko Haram insurgents.

Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu had earlier disclosed that Buhari arrived in Borno from Ethiopia, where he had participated in an African Union (AU) summit, to sympathize with the state government and the people of the state over the tragic incident which claimed over 30 lives.

The president, was however, greeted by a large crowd of angry protesters who chanted “Bama so” in Hausa, which means “we don’t want you”.

Borno is touted as one of President Buhari’s strongholds in all the elections he had contested.
