The Lagos State government has announced plans to discharge six patients, who have recovered from the COVID-19 infection within the shortest possible time.
According to the Special Assistant to the State Governor on Health, Mr Tunde Ajayi, the individuals who are undergoing treatment at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Yaba, have been certified free of the virus.
In a terse statement on his Twitter handle on Thursday, Ajayi wrote: “Six of our #COVID19 inpatients have recovered and will be discharged soon. There is something Lagos is doing right. Lagos takes the lead.”
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Lagos tops the list of COVID-19 infections in the country with 32 confirmed cases.
Others include the Federal Capital Territory (10), Ogun (3), Ekiti (1), Oyo (1), Edo (1), Bauchi (1), Osun (1), and Rivers (1).
