The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has tested negative for the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The governor, who had been in isolation since his counterpart from Bauchi State, Alhaji Bala Mohammed tested positive for the virus on Tuesday, announced the outcome of his COVID-19 test on his verified Twitter handle earlier today.

He tweeted: “My rapid diagnotic test for #Coronavirus ( #COVIDー19 ) came back negative. However, while still asymptomatic, I have decided to remain in self-isolation and continue working from my private office at home pending the result of the more conclusive PCR test.”

Similarly, the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) was on Thursday certified free of the rampaging virus.

Quoting the State Commissioner for Health, the governor tweeted: “Good morning sir. The result is negative. Congratulations your Excellency.

“I just received the above text from the Commissioner for Health regarding my #Covid19 test results. We give all the glory to God. Wish everyone affected speedy recovery.”
