The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, on Friday donated some preventive materials to his constituents as part of efforts to curb the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The lawmaker, who doubles as Chairman, Senate Committee on Health also pledged a N3 million relief fund, which was spread across the four local government areas of the constituency, to cushion the effect of the partial lockdown of movement in the state.
Recipients of the items, which comprised hand sanitizers, gloves and nose masks were traders at Oja Tuntun, Oja Oba, Ipata, Mandate, Yoruba road and Oloje markets.
Others were the Nigeria Prison Service, the NUJ Secretariat and Dr Olusola Saraki Ago Market in Ita Nma.
Represented by the Director-General of his constituency office, the Senator noted that the gesture was one of the ways through which he felt necessary to reach out to his constituents in these perilous times.
