Nigeria records highest daily cases of Covid-19 as 86 persons test positive

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 86 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing the total number of infections to 627.

The agency, in a tweet late Sunday disclosed that the new cases were detected in Lagos, Katsina, Akwa Ibom, Jigawa, Bauchi, Borno and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

It added that the number of fatalities had risen to 21, while a total of 170 recovered patients have been discharged.

NCDC tweeted: “Eighty-six new cases of #COVID19 have been reported;

70 in Lagos
7 in FCT
3 in Katsina
3 in Akwa Ibom
1 in Jigawa
1 in Bauchi
1 in Borno

“As at 11:50 pm 19th April there are 627 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria.

Discharged: 170
Deaths: 21”
