Covid-19: Lagos, Kwara, others witness surge in infections as cases hit 7261

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 245 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing the total number of infections to 7261.

The agency, in a tweet on Friday night disclosed that Lagos, Jigawa, Kwara and 18 other states and the Federal Capital Territory had witnessed a surge in infections, with Lagos recording more than half of the cases.

The NCDC also reported 10 new Covid-19 deaths, adding that 100 more patients had been discharged, bringing the nationwide recovery toll to 2007.

Meanwhile, the Kwara State government has announced confirmation of 9 new cases of Covid-19; contradicting the NCDC which reported 7 new infections in the state.

This was disclosed in an infographic shared on Twitter by the State Covid-19 Taskforce.
