A former Minister of Youth and Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi has congratulated the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan and the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitri festival.
Abdullahi, in a statement late Saturday charged all adherents of the Islamic faith to retain the virtues and lessons of the holy month, and to sustain the love shown to one another during the fasting season.
“I felicitate and congratulate all Muslim faithful in Nigeria and beyond on the auspicious occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration. May Allah (SWT) accept all our acts of Ibadah and reward us with His abiding mercies”, the statement read in part.
The former minister, popularly known as Omoluabi, also enjoined Muslims across the country to remember to pray for the unity, progress and continued safety of the nation, especially in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic currently ravaging the world.
He further called on Nigerians to continue to adhere to health advisories outlined by the relevant authorities; while emphasizing the need for consistent personal hygiene as a precaution against the viral infection.
Acknowledging the negative impact of Covid-19 outbreak on the economy, particularly on household and individual incomes; Abdullahi urged well-meaning Nigerians to continue to support the less privileged especially in this season of Ramadan.
