The Kwara State government on Monday night announced confirmation of 23 new Covid-19 cases in the state as the total number of infections rose to 111.

According to an infographic shared on Twitter by the State Covid-19 Taskforce, no fewer than 1351 persons have been tested for the virus, with 1171 returning negative, 68 pending, 37 discharged, and 1 death.

The Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor and Spokesman of the Covid-19 Taskforce, Mr Rafiu Ajakaye noted that the rising number of cases was due to increased testing.

He said: “Rising number is due largely to the rising capacity to test more samples. All new cases have long been in isolation and are contacts of previous cases.”
