Ilorin: Four reportedly killed as Oko-Erin bridge collapses after heavy downpour

No fewer than four persons reportedly lost their lives late Saturday in Oko-Erin community in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital following the collapse of a bridge in the area.

According to eyewitnesses who narrated the incident to reporters on Sunday, the bridge collapsed as a result of heavy downpour which lasted hours.

It was gathered that a vehicle conveying five passengers plunged into the rubble with only two occupants rescued so far.

Meanwhile, a statement by the spokesman of the State Fire Service, Mr Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, disclosed that the corpse of one of the victims identified as Okechukwu Orwabo, has been recovered at Coca Cola road.
