N-Power: Humanitarian ministry reportedly offers 50,000 recruitment slots to lawmakers

Following the announcement by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, that the application portal of the Federal Government’s social investment scheme, N-Power will reopen for intending beneficiaries later today, June 26, no fewer than 50,000 recruitment slots have been reportedly offered to lawmakers in the country.

According to a report by SaharaReporters, the lawmakers comprising Senate President Ahmad Lawan; Senator Abdul Ningi; Speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y Suleiman, among others, printed registration forms which were “shared among their cronies”.

The N-Power scheme, which was introduced by the Muhammadu Buhari administration to tackle the challenges of youth unemployment in the country, targets 400,000 beneficiaries for the June 2020 Batch C exercise.

According to series of tweets on the N-Power handle, the portal for intending beneficiaries, will open at 11.45 pm today.

The tweets read, “Dear Intending N-Power 2020 Applicants, here is how to prepare for the N-Power application.

“Remember 1. Portal opens 11.45 pm, June 26th, 2020. 2. Application is FREE. Do NOT pay anyone to apply on the N-Power portal. 3. Get a printout or accurate details of your BVN.”
