Stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State have affirmed Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa as the “only recognised and duly sworn-in caretaker Chairman” of the party.
This was contained in a release jointly signed by 13 of the stakeholders who said the rumours circulating on social media about the alleged removal of the caretaker Chairman and subsequent replacement was not true.
The stakeholders said Bolarinwa was duly appointed caretaker Chairman in line with the NEC resolution of December 8th, 2020 and subsequently sworn-in on December 11th, 2020 in Abuja with the rest of his colleagues from other States across the federation.
A part of the release read, “We thus, by this release affirm the purported removal as a baseless rumour, which holds no water and at best the figment of the imagination of the peddlers, who are hellbent on hijacking the party’s structure through the back door.
“We also use this opportunity to warn the rumour peddlers and the leadership of the party at all levels of the dire consequences of the desperate attempt to remove and foisting an unpopular leadership on our great party, the APC.”
The signatories to the statement include; Prof. Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem, Chief Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo, Mal. Lukman Mustapha,
