The University of Ilorin has disclosed that about 59,306 candidates are expected to sit for its post Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).
According to the spokesman of the institution, Kunle Akogun, the screening exercise for the 2019/2020 academic session which commenced yesterday, would round off on Thursday.
Speaking on the carrying capacity of the University for 2019/2020 admission, which was set for about 10,000 students by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, Akogun disclosed that about 59,306 had applied, and 51,868 of them were UTME candidates, while 7,438 were Direct Entry candidates.
He hailed the candidates who had sat for the exams for comporting themselves, adding that the exercise has been peaceful so far.
