When about a fortnight ago the Governor mentioned that he was doing his best to ensure Kwara State retain the two ministerial slots it had during the Muhammadu Buhari Presidency; I was hopeful that his efforts would yield the desire outcome. Doubtless, His Excellency’s commitment to achieving that noble goal for our dear state has now been attained with the nomination of my sister, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim as a Minister of Youth by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
Indeed, the most compelling achievement is one that focuses on our collective interest as a people, I am therefore excited that Kwara has again won on this count. I congratulate His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, CON for tirelessly pursuing the nomination and bringing it to fruition. It is my prayers that Kwara’s relevance in our country’s governance structure would continue to expand under the leadership of Governor Abdulrasaq.
I also wish to seize this opportunity to congratulate the two ministers-designate: Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim and my dear friend and brother, Engr. Ayodele Olawande Wisdom for their nominations as Minister of Youth and Minister of State for Youth respectively. The nominations of the duo represent a watershed in the advocacy for youth inclusion at the apex levels of governance and leadership, and I commend His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for legitimizing the genuine aspirations of the young stakeholders of the party.
As they prepare to take office, it is my prayers that God in His mercies will bless Dr. Jamila and Engr. Ayodele with the wisdom and foresight to meet the demands of their new roles. A big congratulations!
