The Kwara State government has sacked the contractors managing social waste in Ilorin. This is coming exactly nine days after INSIDER NG reported the problem associated with dumping of refuse on major roads within the metropolis https://insiderng.net/metro-file-eyesore-as-refuse-return-to-major-roads-in-ilorin/

Announcing the sack of the refuse managers on Thursday, the Commissioner for environment, Mrs Remilekun Oluwatobi Banigbe said it became necessary to cancel the engagement “due to the inability to meet the relevant Service Level Agreements” by the contractors.

A part of the statement reads, “The wellbeing of the good people of Kwara remains paramount to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, hence we will be leaving no stone unturned to ensure a more hygienic environment for all and sundry.”

Meanwhile, interested members of the public have been requested to submit expression of interest to fill the vacancies created by the disengagement.
