Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has vowed to convey his list of commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly next week for screening and confirmation.
The governor made the disclosure today during a media parley in Ilorin, the state capital.
Abdulrazaq, while responding to queries on the prolonged delay in constituting his cabinet, said: “The list will be sent to the Kwara State House of Assembly next week and they’ll be sworn in after the screening.”
Recall that INSIDER had earlier reported that the governor was poised to set up his cabinet between August and September in order to save cost.
According to a reliable source who spoke to this medium on condition of anonymity, Governor Abdulrazaq was reported to be concerned that early appointments of Commissioners and other aides would result in wastage of insufficient public funds.
“Like I told you, His Excellency, Gov. Abdulrazaq would have a cabinet. But like he told some of us, that may be around August or even September. He is not in a hurry to make appointments”, the source said at the time.
