Ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election in Kwara State, a chieftain of the ruling party in the state, Honourable Kmardeen Olayinka Kadiri has decided to leave the party and pitch his tent with the Peoples Democratic Party.
The APC stalwart and former Senatorial aspirant, described APC has a sinking ship in Kwara with a directionless leadership. Honourable Kamal stated this while speaking to the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) yesterday in Ilorin.
“I am here today to let the general public, especially the good people of Kwara know that I have decided to let go of a party that only cares about few people. I am pledging total support on behalf of myself and my teaming supporters to PDP”.
Hon. Kamal who was a strong force in Irepodun political space, said his decision to move was borne out of the desire to work assiduously for the PDP in the state, across all levels to set Kwara back on development trajectory.
The Oro born politician said Yaman possesses leadership qualities, experience, knowledge and capacity to put Kwara State on the path of progress, when elected.
Kamal, while giving further reasons for dumping ruling APC said Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is not getting both party management and governance right.
According to him, APC is not getting their politics right. Immediately after swearing-in of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in 2019, things started falling apart in the party. The anti-climax was the removal of Hon Bashir Bolarinwa as the State Party Chairman.
“I am also human being. They blocked me out during APC Senatorial primary election in Kwara South. Politics is a game of interest. I cannot continue to stay where they are self-centered.” He explained.
