Alleged Defamation: Gov. Abdulrazaq intervenes, asks CPS to withdraw petition against the Akoguns The governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq may have prevailed on his Chief Press Secretary, Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye to withdraw the petition filed against the duo of the Fresh Insight Publisher, Abdulrasheed Akogun and his brother, Dare Akogun, a staff of Sobi FM. There was widespread protest on Thursday as news of the arrest and subsequent detain of the two journalists became public knowledge. Led by the Editor of Fresh Insight, Sherifdeen Gold, journalists in Ilorin were joined by other youth stakeholders to protest the arrest of the two young journalists. The Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) also, in solidarity with the Akoguns, threatens a blackout to the coverage involving the Kwara State Government and the State’s police command.
