Notorious kidnap gang leader, Hamisu Bala Wadume has made more startling revelations about his atrocious dealings with some officers in the Nigerian Army.
The millionaire kidnapper, who was rearrested on Monday by operatives of the Nigeria Police, confessed that he sent a huge amount of money to an Army captain named Balarabe three weeks ago.
The gang leader also revealed that Captain Balarabe who acted on a tip-off following his (Wadume’s) arrest on August 6, by operatives of an undercover Intelligence Response Team (IRT), allegedly ordered soldiers to attack the policemen and rescue the victim, which resulted in the death of three police officers.
Wadume added that the soldiers took him to the barracks, after which the captain moved him to his house and got a welder to cut off the hand and leg chains the slain officers had put on him.
Recall that the Army, through its spokesperson, claimed that the policemen were killed in error, having been mistaken for kidnappers.
Wadume noted that aside from Captain Balarabe, he had some other soldiers on his payroll. He also disclosed that he and his gang of kidnappers wriggled their way through checkpoints by inducing security agents with N20,000.
The suspect, is said to operate three kidnap syndicates in Taraba and Nasarawa states, as well as a network of major firearms suppliers.
