The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has made a landmark decision in favor of Nigeria, awarding the Super Eagles three points and three goals in their ongoing qualifying campaign.

The decision comes after a protest filed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) against Libya, citing violations of CAF regulations.

The Super Eagles plane was diverted 300km from scheduled airport even when the pilot told them he was low on fuel. CAF’s Disciplinary Committee has imposed a hefty fine of $50,000 on the Libyan Football Federation.

This ruling significantly boosts Nigeria’s chances of advancing in the competition, as the additional three points propel them up the standings.

The Nigeria Football Federation has welcomed the decision, expressing satisfaction with CAF’s swift and fair resolution of the matter.
