Renowned community development enthusiast, Mallam Lawal Olohungbebe has been named has the chairman of the planning committee of the 30 years anniversary of Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS).
Chairman of the College’s Alumni Association, Dr. Mubarak Adekilekun, who made the disclosure said the event is billed to take place in September, 2022.
- Aside Olohungbebe, other members of the planning committee include Mr. Habeeb Suleiman, who will serve as Committee secretary; Dr. AbdulHameed Badmus Yusuf, Barr. Mubajjal AbdulAzeez; Mallam Saidu Ayinla and Mrs Niniola Ilyas who are all ex-students of the institution.
While unveiling the committee, the Chairman Caretaker Committee of the Alumni Association, Dr. Mubarak Adekilekun charged the anniversary committee members to organise a remarkable and befitting anniversary.
“It is the hope of the caretaker committee members of this association that you will justify the confidence reposed in you and use your experience and selfless sacrifice towards organising a befitting anniversary celebration,” the Alumni chairman said.
In his response, the chairman of the anniversary planning committee, Mallam Lawal Olohungbebe expressed appreciation to the Alumni Association, while giving assurance that the committee would do everything within its powers to ensure a well organised and befitting 30th anniversary celebration of the citadel of learning.
“I think we have to hit the ground running, rework these terms of reference, rearrange them and work towards their actualisation”, Olohungbebe said.
Aside the planning committee, other subcommittees on publicity, logistics, awards of merit, and fundraising have been set up to ensure effective and outstanding performance of the main committee.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the anniversary planning committee has called upon all Alumni of the College to give adequate moral, financial and intellectual support for the success of the much-awaited event.
