CELF receives visiting Bayero University Don, Professor Shittu

The ongoing second edition of Countryside Emerging Leaders Fellowship (CELF) taking place in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, has received a boost with the visit of Prof. Mohammed Bello Shittu, a Professor of Adult Education and Community Services from Bayero University, Kano.

Prof. Shittu, who arrived Ilorin on Friday, was received at the airport by the Convener and lead visioner for CELF, Mr. Lawal Olohungbebe who led him on a visit to key officials of Kwara State government, including Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Barr. Sulyman Senior and his counterpart in the ministry of Human Capital Development, Hajia Saadat Modibbo Kawu.

Professor Shittu, who is the current President (Sub Saharan Africa) of the International Association for Community Development (IACD) applauded the CELF initiative and commended the organisers for building human capacity for rural growth, noting that the trainings and skills transferred to young people during the programme would help them quicken developments within their communities.

The erudite professor also took time out to facilitate a session with the fellows, speaking on the topic; ‘Personal, Professional and Community Values Towards Building Stronger Communities.’
