Senator Dino Melaye has turned down his appointment by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the Director-General, Kogi State Governorship Campaign Council.
The senator who failed to clinch the party’s governorship ticket, declined the consolatory offer in a statement on his Twitter handle today.
He wrote: “Let me state categorically that I have turned down the position of the Director-General of the Kogi State Governorship Campaign Council.
“I wish PDP all the best. When truth is a casualty, there is chaos.”
Melaye had earlier been announced as the campaign DG by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan.
Recall that Engr. Musa Wada emerged winner of the keenly contested PDP Kogi governorship primary after polling 748 votes, to defeat eleven other candidates.
Dino Melaye came a distant fourth in primary as he could only manage 70 votes out of 2388 accredited voters.
Governor Ahmed Fintri of Adamawa State, who announced the results charged the contestants to work for the party’s candidate in the November 16 governorship election.
