As the news of a possible removal of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje filtered into town; an Abuja based lawyer who is an indigene of Kano has said the hypocrisy of the royal father may ultimately result in his downfall.
The lawyer, who prefers not to be named, said Emir Sanusi is fond of critising people for the offenses he himself is guilty of.
“How I wish an honest investigation will be undertaken about Asset Management Company of Nigeria, AMCON. Nigerians would have realised how Sanusi used public funds to subsidize the lives of few elites who took loans from banks. And yet he has the mouth to say others are bad”, the lawyer said.
While reacting to the news of a possible removal of the royal father, the lawyer, who is also a frontline member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) said no one should pity the emir for whatever befalls him.
“For a royal father, emir Sanusi talks too much and plays too much politics. During the 2019 elections, the emir publicly canvassed votes for candidates and political parties of his choice. No self-respecting royal father would take sides publicly and in such a brazen manner. So whatever happens to him would be a direct consequence of his lack of discretion”, he submitted.
