APC National Chairmanship hopeful, Mallam Saliu Mustapha has provided start up capital running into millions of Naira for members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who have been through thick and thin with him over the years to launch or expand their businesses.
Some of the beneficiaries are known loyalists of Mustapha, including Adebayo Ambali, his Director-General; Comrade Yakub Ishowo, his firebrand media aide, Abdulrasheed Bube, a grassroots mobiliser and Hon. Idris Alata, a former councillor from Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State, among others.
Saliu Mustapha personally presented cheques ranging from between N500,000 and N2million to the lucky beneficiaries at a brief but colourful event which held over weekend at the Saliu Mustapha Foundation secretariat in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The beneficiaries, numbering 24 in total, spread across the three senatorial districts of Kwara State.
It will be recalled that the beneficiaries, after participating in a raffle draw last month, were sponsored through an entrepreneurship and leadership training with popular Ilorin-based business management consultant, Mr. Nasir Abdulqadir.
The training was organised to groom the selected beneficiaries on how to effectively manage their businesses to success.
In his remarks, the philanthropist said the essence of embarking on the programme was to produce leaders out of his followers through deliberate human capital empowerment. He also said it is an appreciation of the support the followers have given to him over the years without wavering.
