The Minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, (retd.), on behalf of the Federal Government has declared Wednesday, May 29, a work-free day to commemorate the 2019 presidential inauguration.
The minister disclosed this in Abuja yesterday in a statement issued by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Mrs Georgina Ehuriah.
Dambazau congratulated the president on his reelection, and also saluted Nigerians on the successful conduct of the 2019 elections which he described as peaceful, credible and transparent.
He enjoined all Nigerians to support the policies and programmes of President Muhammadu Buhari, which according to him, “are all geared towards the improvement of the lives of the citizens, as well as the unity, growth and development of the nation, as it moves to the next level.”
He expressed hope that, “with the collaboration of all Nigerians, the nation would be transformed in the next four years to a country that would be the envy of other nations.”
