Former PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate, Makanjuola, Dumps Party
In a shocking move, Hon. Gbega Peters Makanjuola, who was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deputy Governorship Candidate in the 2019 and 2023 elections in Kwara State, has announced his resignation from the party.
Makanjuola, a former House of Representatives member and Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of the 8th Senate, tendered his resignation in a letter dated July 30, 2024, addressed to the PDP Chairman in his Omu-Aran Ward 1, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The letter was also copied to the Local Government Chairman and the State Chairman of the PDP, respectively.
This development marks a significant departure for Makanjuola, who has been a key figure in the PDP in Kwara State. His resignation is expected to send ripples through the state’s political landscape.
The reasons for Makanjuola’s resignation are not yet clear, but political analysts speculate that it may be due to internal party conflicts or disagreements with the party leadership.
