The outgoing governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed would tomorrow (Friday) commission the Geri Alimi diamond underpass as one of the last activities of his government.
The road, which our correspondent observed was already opened for public use, would now officially be commissioned by the Governor tomorrow, barring any last minute changes.
The road project, which started a little over two years ago, is one of the legacy projects by which the administration of Governor Ahmed would be remembered.
While the project was still ongoing, rumor was rife that the original master plan was altered. However, the state government, through the Commissioner for works and transport, Alhaji Aro Yahaya, has denied such allegation, saying it was the opposition that was initially pushing such distorted narrative.
