Governors Meet NSA Amid Fears of Nationwide Protests

On Wednesday night in Abuja, the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) led by the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq met with National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu to address growing concerns over potential nationwide protests against the government, slated to commence on August 1st.

During the meeting, the NSA briefed the governors on intelligence reports indicating a surge in public discontent and the likelihood of large-scale demonstrations.

The meeting culminated in a consensus among the governors and the NSA on the need to bolster security measures across the country. The NSA pledged to support the governors in enhancing security in their respective states, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening security architecture at the subnational level.

In a communique released after the meeting, the governors expressed their gratitude to the NSA and reaffirmed their dedication to ensuring the security of lives and properties within their respective states.
