The immediate past President of the Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki yesterday lauded the professional and objective manner with which the media conduct itself, even in the face of pressure.

Saraki, who hosted media personalities and various other groups, including members of Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners, ASKOMP, to an Iftar dinner at his GRA residence in Ilorin, observed that it’s not an easy thing to speak truth to power, especially when such is not in favour of the government of the day.

The former Kwara state governor, has been in Kwara for about a week, having decided to spend the last ten days of the Ramadan fasting in Ilorin.

In the spirit of Ramadan, he has since been playing host to several groups, including religious and community leaders, political groups as well as professional associations in Kwara.
