The Greater Kwara Innitiatives Network (GKWIN) has strongly condemned the Kwara state government’s alleged attempt to factionalize the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) for its own selfish interests. This move is seen as a direct attack on the Emir of Ilorin and the entire emirate, negating the established heritage of the peaceful city.
According to Abdullateef Ishowo, Chairman of GKWIN, the group stands with Muhammad Uthman-Jagunmo and his co executives against the state government’s actions. The statement warned that those who invite trouble into their homes will face severe consequences.
The IEYDA is a formidable sociocultural group, and GKWIN believes that the government’s actions will have damning consequences for the emirate. The group’s statement emphasized the need to protect the emirate’s heritage and unity.
