The Kwara State House of Assembly is to hold a public hearing on the state’s version of social investment program on 20th September, 2019.
According to a public notice signed by the secretary of the Adhoc committee on the Kwara State Social Investment Programme, Hajia Risikat Shittu, the hearing will take place at the chambers of the Kwara State House of Assembly situated along Asa Dam road in the state capital, Ilorin.
It would be recalled that the state governor, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq had, upon assumption of office, indicated interest in domesticating the federal government’s initiatives concerning the welfare of the most vulnerable in the state.
In preparation, the governor had visited the National Social Investment Office (NSIO) in the nation’s capital, Abuja, where he was received by the Special Adviser to the president on social investment, Mrs. Maryam Uwais.
It’s in a bid to prepare the legal foundation for the takeoff of the program in Kwara state that the state House of Assembly announced a hearing to deliberate on the bill by major stakeholders and all interested parties.
