Former Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki praised Kwara State residents for courageously rejecting the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration, led by AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, in the recent local government election.
In a statement signed by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki noted that despite conflicting results announced by the Kwara State Government and Electoral Commission, the people firmly stood against bad governance, showcasing their political savvy and discernment.
Saraki emphasized that democracy serves the people, and governments failing to do so will be voted out. He commended Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates for their popularity and commended them for allowing people to express their preference.
“The people of Kwara State demonstrated remarkable character, courage, clarity, and conviction, marking a new dawn. The essence of democracy is to serve the people. The results of the recent local government election shows that AbdulRazaq’s government has failed the people.”
