A high-level Nigerian delegation, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has arrived in Beijing, China for the 2024 Summit of the Forum for China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
The delegation includes Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, who is also the Chairman of the Nigeria Governor’s Forum, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Finance Minister Wale Edun, and other top officials.
The FOCAC summit, scheduled to take place from September 3-4, aims to strengthen economic ties and cooperation between China and African countries. The Nigerian delegation is expected to engage in high-level discussions and meetings with Chinese officials and other African leaders to explore opportunities for investment, trade, and development.
President Tinubu’s attendance at the summit underscores Nigeria’s commitment to deepening its relationship with China and leveraging the partnership to drive economic growth and development in the country.
The summit is expected to yield significant outcomes, including new investment deals, infrastructure development projects, and enhanced cooperation in areas such as trade, agriculture, and technology.
