Lawyer and politician, Barr. Obayomi Azeez Olaitan of Oro-Ago ward in the Share/Oke-Ode Constituency of Ifelodun local government area, Kwara State, has felicitated with the people of his Constituency and Kwarans in general on the auspicious occasion of the new year celebrations.

In a new year message, Barrister Olaitan observed that every new year always presents an opportunity for a fresh start, urging everyone to undertake a self-reflection towards making 2022 a better year, both for individuals and for Kwara as a State.

“For many of our people, the outgone year 2021 has been a stark continuation of the many challenges faced in 2020, which was predominantly as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the consequent negative effect on businesses and the economy as a whole. Many individuals and families merely struggled to get by, a situation that affects the optimism of many about the potentials of government to bail them out of extreme hardship,” Olaitan noted.

Continuing, he said it was time for government to truly pay deeper attention to the welfare and well-being of everyday people, noting that a government ought to exist to cater to the general happiness of the greatest number of the people.

On the deteriorating security situation across the country, Barrister Olaitan called on the Kwara State government to work harder and to institutionalize a preventive and proactive strategy that will address the pockets of insecurity threatening the state, especially the occasional kidnappings and the frequent cult clashes.

“When government commits to protecting the lives and properties of the people, and also guarantee them a better life; it would be easier for citizens to renew their faith in this country and their hope for its future prosperity,” he added.

Praying for a better and glorious year 2022, Barrister Olaitan enjoy the people to embrace peace and love in the new year while eschewing bitterness and animosity. He wishes all Kwarans and Nigerians a prosperous and happy new year.
