The Hannis Institute for Development Studies (HIDS), is set to host the inaugural edition of the Forum of Kwara Young CEOs, which will witness the convergence of young entrepreneurs and business leaders from across the country.
The Forum, themed, “Driving our development with our assets”, will offer a unique opportunity for current and aspiring CEOs to meet, share ideas and collaborate to create economic value across the state, according to the Convener and a renowned community development practitioner, Mr. Lawal Olohungbebe.
Mr. Olohungbebe added that the event will include an ideas pitching competition, while noting that established professionals and technocrats, as well as emerging young business leaders from both the public and private sector will be featured in the forum.
“Speakers will be drawn from among CEOs in and from Kwara State.
“During this event, some business leaders, shareholders, investors, as well as government officials will discuss major topics and address additional key challenges for Kwara’s private sector, including the representation of top women executives in the boardroom and the modernization of family business governance”, he stated.
INSIDER gathered that the objectives of the Forum were highlighted as follows:
1. To share ideas on business development in Kwara State
2. To inspire aspiring entrepreneurs in the state
3. To foster networking and partnership among young business owners
4. To promote youth employment and job creation
5. To support business expansion for young entrepreneurs
6. To create a mentorship platform for young business owners
It was also learnt that the event targets a group of 1000 persons which include: Young entrepreneurs of between 20 and 40 years of age; Businesses with less than eight employees; Small business owners with capital less than one million naira; Young people with startup ideas; and Young business owners whose businesses are within two years of inception.
The Forum of Kwara Young CEOs is scheduled for 9:00am, September 21, 2019, at Hall A, Kwara Hotel, Ilorin, Kwara State.
