President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive requiring all ministers in his administration to promptly report on their performance to the Nigerian public. The announcement was made by Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, during a news conference held in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to Mr Idris, the presidential directive mandates ministers to provide detailed updates on their activities and achievements, ensuring that citizens are well-informed about the government’s actions. The initiative is designed to bridge the gap between the administration and the public, offering Nigerians an opportunity to engage with their leaders and seek clarifications on government policies and programs.
“This directive underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to transparency and his belief that the Nigerian people deserve to know how their government is working for them,” Idris stated during the briefing. “Ministers will be required to present their reports in a clear and accessible manner, allowing citizens to ask questions and hold their leaders accountable.”
The first round of ministerial briefings is expected to take place in the coming weeks, with details to be announced by the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
