The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reacted to reports suggesting his alleged interest in contesting for the 2023 presidential election.
The former Lagos governor, disowned a group known as “Asiwaju Reloaded Ambassadors Nigeria”, who have been advocating his candidacy for the 2023 polls.
The group reportedly made face caps, T-shirts, leaflet carrying his pictures on them with the inscription: “Tinubu 2023.”
Reacting to the advocacy, Tinubu in a series of tweets posted on his official Twitter handle and signed by his Media Office, described the group as faceless, and its materials unsolicited and unwarranted.
“We have seen pictures of face caps, T shirts, shirts and even leaflets with Bola Tinubu 2023 embossed on them purportedly by a faceless group which christened itself ‘Asiwaju Reloaded Ambassadors Nigeria’.
“Neither the group nor its souvenirs are known to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
“We hereby, through this medium, categorically deny any knowledge of the group and dissociates Asiwaju Tinubu from the group’s unsolicited and unwarranted materials,” the tweets said.
