Nigeria’s Minister for Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, has congratulated Ademola Lookman, Chiamaka Nnadozie, and the Super Falcons on their outstanding achievements at the CAF Awards.
Lookman took home the CAF Player of the Year (Men) award, while Nnadozie was recognized as the Goalkeeper of the Year (Women), and the Super Falcons were crowned the Female Team of the Year.
The Minister praised the trio’s remarkable accomplishments, noting that their success is a testament to the hard work, exceptional talent, and dedication of Nigerian youth. Olawande emphasized that these achievements serve as a source of inspiration for other young Nigerians around the world, highlighting the resilience and potential within the country’s youth.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also extended his congratulations to the winners, describing them as “worthy ambassadors” who have showcased their talent and brought honour to Nigeria on the continental and world stage. The President expressed his belief that the recognition by Africa’s highest football authority will inspire other young athletes to remain committed to their aspirations.
The CAF Awards ceremony, held in Marrakech, Morocco, was a night of celebration for Nigeria, with several players making the CAF Best XI lists, including Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman in the Men’s Best XI, and Rasheedat Ajibade, Asisat Oshoala, Osinachi Ohale, and Michelle Alozie in the Women’s Best XI.
