The management of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has unanimously agreed to stick with the 32-man list of graduating students for the 2018/2019 academic session as earlier released by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
According to one of the students who spoke exclusively to INSIDER on condition of anonymity, the institution has also decided to fix a new date for the Induction/Oath Taking Ceremony of the affected graduands.
INSIDER learnt that some of the graduands who had crossed from other departments at 200 level, hence didn’t sit for two courses, ‘CSC101 and PLB108’ which their counterparts in the department had sat for at 100 level but subsequently had the courses waived by a former dean of the faculty were denied entrance into the venue of the last induction ceremony which held at the University Auditorium on August 30, leaving their parents and other family members who had graced the event puzzled and totally stranded.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem was reported to have ordered that students who didn’t sit for the waived courses be delisted from the set of graduating students.
A move which infuriated parents and shattered the emotions of affected students who had earlier been told to prepare for the induction ceremony.
This is very good, indeed the management of the university of ilorin shows they are not only exemplary and considerate but they surely good parents too.
