A former senator, Shehu Sani, has explained why people in the North and South-West “tolerate the wrongdoings” of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
Sani noted that although, the North may not be pleased with the present government, they put up with it because one of theirs is in power.
He also added that the South-West “tolerates” the President because of their 2023 presidential ambition.
“The North’s tolerance to wrong is because one of their own is in Power. The South West tolerance to wrong is because they are expecting one of theirs to be next in Power”, Shehu Sani tweeted.
The former senator who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, gave credence to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari which raised concern over the recurring security challenges in the country.
Obasanjo released an open letter yesterday where he warned the President against the dangers that could arise if insecurity is not quickly tackled in the country.
The letter reads in part: “I am very much worried and afraid that we are on the precipice and dangerously reaching a tipping point where it may no longer be possible to hold danger at bay.
“The main issue, if I may dare say, is poor management or mismanagement of diversity which, on the other hand, is of our greatest and most important assets. As a result, very onerous cloud is gathering. And rain of destruction, violence, disaster and disunity can be the outcome.”
Responding to Obasanjo’s letter, Sani tweeted: “The messenger is not surely handsome but the message is a Bell and a compass.
“Obj and Baba knows each other more than anyone knows about them.”
