Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has praised the administration of President Bola Tinubu, saying it’s the first government since 1999 to truly listen to the youth. Olawande made this statement on ARISE TV, highlighting the government’s commitment to empowering young people.
According to Olawande, the current administration is a “youth-for-youth government” that understands the needs and concerns of young Nigerians. He emphasized that the government’s focus is on the future, rather than just addressing immediate needs.
“The government is committed to the people, and everything the government is doing is people first. It is not about today; every program, initiative, tax reform every thing about this government is about the future, not now.”
Olawande’s comments come as the government launches various initiatives aimed at supporting young people. These include the National Youth Investment Fund, which provides financial support to young entrepreneurs, and plans to establish a “Green House” in each local government area to provide resources and support for young people.
The Minister’s statement has been met with enthusiasm from young Nigerians, who see the government’s commitment to youth development as a positive step forward. With initiatives like the National Youth Confab, which aims to bring young people together to discuss their needs and concerns, it’s clear that the government is making a concerted effort to listen to and empower young Nigerians.
