Comrade Adam Oshiomole, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), today (Wednesday) at the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari for second term, broke protocols while trying to position himself for a handshake with the President.
Oshiomole, who was politely requested to change his position on the queue by the Commander, Guards Brigade, Brig. Gen Umar Musa, for breaching protocol, had joined other government officials to await the passage of the president through the entrance to where he took the oath of office.
The dignitaries who lined up on the red carpet to await the passage of the president include the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Gabriel Olonisakin; the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.Gen Tukur Buratai; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal, Sadique Abubakar; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu; and the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, who administered the oaths of allegiance and office to the President.
The APC National Chairman stood beside the Chief Justice of Nigeria in anticipation of a handshake with the President when he passes through. However, he was asked to leave the spot where he was and to stand beside the Chief of Defence staff instead.
