The duo of Lawal Olohungbebe and Kayode Oyin-Zubair were on Thursday, presented with community development awards by the Adult and Primary Education Students’ Association, UNILORIN Chapter, in appreciation of their services, contributions, participation and supports towards community development in Kwara State.
In an event held at the University of Ilorin, yesterday, the dynamic duo who have achieved great strides together and separately in enhancing community development, were recognized for their selfless efforts in giving different communities across the state a facelift.
Olohungbebe, who is the Coordinator, Centre for Community Development, Kwara State University, has facilitated more than 35 boreholes across the State.
Mr. Olohungbebe convened the first Kwara State Gubernatorial Candidates Forum en route the 2019 general elections, and also engineered the Kwara Unsung Hero and other community development projects ranging from water to care for orphans.
Kayode Oyin-Zubair, a community development enthusiast and trained journalist, has been instrumental to the repairs of several boreholes in the State. He is the convener of the Kwara Youth Center and instrumental to the ongoing pipe repairs across the State capital.
As part of activities lined for the event, Lawal Olohungbebe who was a guest speaker, presented a paper on Literacy Education and the 21st Century.
