Following severe criticism of the planned RUGA Settlement Project initiated by the Federal Government in an effort to quell recurring clashes between herdsmen/farmers across the country, President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly suspended the initiative pending further notice.
Sources close to the presidency hinted that “after consultations with stakeholders, President Buhari has resolved to suspend the idea for a thorough review and well-accepted approach to the menace constituted to national security by the constant clashes between herdsmen and farmers.”
The Presidency is expected to make an official announcement any moment from now.
