Reverend Emmanuel Oset, a former mentor and spiritual leader of Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, the general overseer and founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA, has revealed why he severed his relationship with his former protege.
Reverend Oset who pastors a pentecostal church in Ilorin, explained while speaking on Arise Television on Thursday that Fatoyinbo had refused to change his alleged adulterous ways, hence the decision to put an end to their relationship.
He disclosed that having mentored the COZA pastor for years, he had served as a mediator between Fatoyinbo and a former member of his church who had accused the flamboyant peacher of adultery.
“I had been Fatoyinbo’s spiritual mentor for years and have had to wade in when similar allegations were made against him.
“I investigated and the evidence against him was overwhelming but at the end, he promised that he would change”, Oset said.
He added that he decided to sever his relationship with Fatoyinbo in 2013, following another allegation of extramarital affair leveled against him by another member of his church.
“I had to cut off from him after a member of his church accused him in 2013 of having an extramarital affair.
“When that incident happened, I called him and told him that I wanted us to talk, but he kept avoiding me for many months.
“From August 2013 to April 2014, I kept putting pressure on him to come so we could discuss the issue but he avoided me. So I had to write him a letter telling him that I was no longer interested in being his mentor”, the Ilorin preacher stated.
Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo is currently facing litigation over rape allegations made against him by Mrs Busola Dakolo, wife of famous singer, Timi Dakolo.
