A five-man committee chaired by Hon. Mohammed Funsho Abdullahi, a former deputy director in the youth mobilization directorate of the APC campaign council, has completed its assignment of overseeing the election of a new executive for the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Youth Forum (APYF).
Abdullahi, who doubles as the National Publicity Secretary of the parent body of the APYF, The Progressive Forum was charged with the task of producing a successor team to the outgoing executive led by Comrade Tunde Salau who took office in 2018.
The new APYF state executive, with sixteen (16) state executive members cutting across the six (6) federal constituencies of Kwara State, has Comrade Abduljelil Bala Daba from Kwara North senatorial district as the new chairman.
It would be recalled that the pioneer chairman of the forum in Kwara, Hon. Hussein Olajide Nurudeen who served from 2014 to 2016 hails from Offa in Kwara South senatorial district. He was succeeded by Hon. Mohammed Funsho Abdullahi from Kwara Central who was chairman from 2016 to 2018. The outgoing chairman, Comrade Salau, who has been on the saddle since 2018 hails from Kwara South.
While commending the election of the new Kwara State chairman of the youth wing of The Progressive Forum, TPF, Abdullahi said it was a good thing that Comrade Bala Daba from Kwara North emerged the new chairman, stating that the outcome of the election has balanced the leadership recruitment in Kwara APYF.
According to him, ” Comrade Bala Daba is coming in as the fourth chairman of our vibrant youth group in Kwara State. Considering that we in the other two senatorial districts had occupied the chairmanship position at different times, it is only fair and equitable that the position should rotate to Kwara North senatorial district. I congratulate the new Chairman-elect and wish him a productive tenure.”
