Sallah: PDP camp in high spirit as Saraki distributes cows across wards, LGAs

Thousands of members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, across wards and local government areas in Kwara State, are in high spirits as they take delivery of the cows distributed by the President of the 8th Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, in celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.

PDP faithful have since commenced sharing the cows at their various wards amid excitement and gratitude to the donor.

Saraki had days ahead of Eid-el-Kabir, doled out rams to traditional rulers, religious leaders, party elders, and leaders, among others.

He also distributed cows to each of the 52 political wards in the Kwara Central Senatorial district and LGAs in the Kwara South and Kwara North Senatorial districts.

Press Officer on Local Matters, Bukola Saraki Media Office, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, had in a statement on Friday, said his “Principal’s gesture is to relieve the people of financial burden due to the prevailing economic hardship in the country.”

He added that “the distribution is in fulfillment of his annual tradition to share with the people in the spirit of Sallah and appreciate them for their loyalty and support always.”

At various wards visited, party loyalists were seen sharing the beef in preparation for Sunday’s Sallah festivity.

They expressed joy at the gift from the Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, popularly referred to as Leader, and prayed to Allah to continue to bless him.

Speaking, the Ilorin West Party Chairman, Alhaji Abdulkadir Issa, lauded Saraki for the gesture, which he said has ensured a happy celebration for the party faithful.

“We all know how hard the situation of things are at this period. We stay with the people and I know how this has helped to guarantee a happy celebration for them.

“We must thank our leader for this gesture. In fact, we were not expecting something as big as this. But in his generosity, he did it again. We appreciate him,” he said.

Alhaji Tajudeen Are, Magaji Are 1, from Ilorin East, also expressed appreciation to the Waziri Ngeri, describing him as a leader of leaders.

He admonished him not to relent in his magnanimity and selfless service to the people.

Mallam Hanafi Nurudeen Alajere, Okeweru Yowere ll, in his own remark, noted that the gesture by Saraki to put a smile on the people’s faces is a fulfillment of God’s command to give.

Mustapha Kabir De Gomina, Oyun LGA Party Chairman from Kwara South, also stated that “party members are full of excitement and are appreciative of the leader.”

He said, “I’m not surprised at this from the leader. He has always been there for us collectively and individually.

“Our people are full of joy since the sharing began and have been praying for him. May God continue to keep him in all his ways.

Also speaking, a women leader from Kaiama LGA, Hajia Ramatu said the people have been full of appreciation.

“In fact, we can’t pay him back for his goodness to make life better for us always. We can only renew our commitment, loyalty, and support to him”, she said
